Many textures and materials are available for SimbiontRM through the DarkTree Repository. These darktree files are loaded by the SimbiontRM .dso which then calculates the procedural and passes data back to your Renderman shader. A Python script is included which will take a shader template plus a darktree file and insert the correct code for evaluating your shader.
- .dsts - Material shader files include color, bump, specular, and other shading information.
- .dstc, .dstp, .dstb - Raw 3D color, percent, and bump procedurals.
If you like the results, consider buying DarkTree so you can design your own shaders. SimbiontRM supports DarkTree 2.5’s componont plugin API so you can easily add new procedurals to SimbiontRM (using C++).
